A recipient of Magsaysay Award, Bezwada Wilson has been running a campaign for eradication of manual scavenging through the Safai Karmachari Andolan, a human rights group which he co-founded. The 51-year-old activist is credited with having liberated 80 per cent of manual scavengers in the 600 districts of the country through his relentless campaign since 1985
