A maestro of Carnatic music, K J Yesudas has been singing Indian classical, devotional and film songs with equal ease and expertise for decades. The Kerala-born singer has recorded more than 50,000 songs in different languages, including Arabic, Russina and Latin. The 77-year-old, fondly called Gana Gandharvan (Celestial singer) has been awarded Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian award of the country.
