Siddaramaiah has been the Chief minister of Karanataka since 2013. The 68-year-old Congress leader known for his secular and socialist credentials has built his reputation as an efficient administrator with his massive push for development in Bangalore in particular. His government has evicted encroachers from 4950 acres of land worth Rs 52,000 crore in the past three years and tackled the problems of waterlogging during rainy season effectively in the city. Apart from launching many schemes for urban and rural development, it has also provided Rs 2,000 crore for the city’s infrastructural development under the Nagarothana project.
