Siddhartha Mukherjee is an Indian-American physicist and oncologist but he is best known for his book, The Emperor of All Melodies: A Biography of Cancer which received Pulitzer Prize for general non-fiction in 2011. It was also named as one of the most influential books written in English since 1923 by Time magazine and one of the 100 notable books of 2010 by The New York Times. Last year, his last book, The Gene: An Intimate History which chronicles the history of the gene was also released.
